The Wendy Foster School of Dancing was set up by Wendy Foster in 1985

The school first opened in Kirton in Lindsey, but subsequently moved to Gainsborough.  There were 3 pupils in the first class Miss Foster taught in Gainsborough, one of which was her daughter!!!  The school quickly grew in size though, and a few years later a branch was opened in Brigg.  The school went from strength to strength, and now boasts approx 250 pupils aged 3 – 18 yrs, and has 6 teachers.

Pupils have the opportunity to study for Royal Acadamy of Dance (RAD) ballet exams, and also Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) modern and tap exams.  We have the teachers, the qualifications and the skills to take elder students to the very highest exams, and train them to the highest standard of dancing.

They can also take part in dance festivals, dancing in groups, trios, duets, solos.  The School recently qualified for the All England Finals, and took one of its group dances down to London to compete against the best in the country.  They were awarded 4th place which is a great achievement.

The school also has an annual show which is specially written and choreographed for them.  All pupils are invited to take part.

Many pupils go on from us to become professional dancers, and our past pupils have danced in West End shows, The Brit Awards, Cruise Ships, World Tours to name just a few.  We also have past pupils who are currently at vocational dance colleges and ballet schools including the Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst, Central School of Ballet, Bird College of Performing Arts, Laine Theatre Arts and many more.

The aim of the school is to find the best in each individual, and turn their potential into talent.
